    It is interesting to see the host nation Russia getting knocked out in the first round. Egypt is a good squad with a few key players but I think home field could help Russia get out of group A. Besides Egypt, an African country I could see move out of the group stage is Senegal. Group H definitely is definitely the weakest and Poland aren't the strongest side. Colombia barely qualified for the World Cup so we will see how they are coming into the tournament. For a winner, it is tough to pick against the major teams like Germany and Brazil but this might be Belgium's time with the amount of stars they have within the squad. It'll be very interesting to see how things play out.

      Also I can't see Mexico not making it past the group stage. I think they will surpass Sweden in that spot. Group D is a mess of who is going to come in second as well. That I think will be the most exciting group.

Controversial Video Refs to be Used in World Cup

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) is looking to change rules this weekend to allow for Video Assisted Refereeing (VAR) to be used in the 2018 World Cup. This possible change has been highly criticized by fans and coaches, including former FIFA president Sepp Blatter, who claimed the World Cup is not the place to "experiment." A lot of the outrage comes from yesterday's embarrassing controversy during the Tottenham-Rochdale match in the fifth-round of the FA Cup. The use of VAR generated nearly nine minutes of stoppage time, throwing off the players, coaches, refs, and fans. The use of video technology is to close help eliminate game-changing mistakes by referees, but some are arguing that those mistakes and emotion is what makes football, football. Fans also fear that FIFA wants to use VAR as another revenue stream by sponsoring each review, only further disrupting the game and angering the fans. CRISTIANO NAMES HIS WORLD CUP FAVORITES!

With the 2018 World cup getting closer every day so do national tensions. Everyone wants to believe their country has some shot to win, as irrational as it may be, and earn the right to hold the precious cup. Well, maybe not Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo... In a recent interview, Ronaldo said "We are not the favorites, we have to be honest" to Desimpedidos. And that was not all he had to say  "There are teams with more names, like Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, but in football everything is possible".  Not only did Cristiano say that Portugal wouldn't be winning the World Cup but he went as far as to name some teams he favored!
